Vilnius Rugby Academy Wins Bronze at the Lithuanian Beach Rugby Championship
On July 25, Vilnius Rugby Academy secured a third-place finish at the Lithuanian Beach Rugby Championship in Klaipėda. The tournament marked another strong performance for our team and served as an important preparation event ahead of the European Beach Rugby Championship, where two of our players will represent Lithuania.

On July 25, Klaipėda hosted the Lithuanian Beach Rugby Championship, bringing together six teams from Lithuania and Latvia. Among them was Vilnius Rugby Academy, whose players once again showcased determination, teamwork, and the fighting spirit that defines our club.
This year's championship featured RK Kuršiai, the Lithuanian Men's National Beach Rugby Team, RK Jūrmala, RK Plungės Perkūnas, Panevėžys Rugby Club, and Vilnius Rugby Academy.
After a day of exciting and hard-fought matches, Vilnius Rugby Academy finished in third place, proving once again that our team can compete with the strongest clubs in Lithuania and the region. We are incredibly proud of every player who gave their all on the sand and fought for every point.
Another proud moment came as Julius Melnikas was named Vilnius Rugby Academy's Most Valuable Player of the tournament. His leadership, determination, and consistent performances throughout the day earned him this well-deserved recognition. Congratulations, Julius!
The championship title was claimed by the home team, RK Kuršiai, who defeated the Lithuanian Men's National Beach Rugby Team 4–3 in a thrilling final.
The tournament also served as an important preparation event for the European Beach Rugby Championship, which will take place in Moldova on August 22–23.
We are especially proud that two Vilnius Rugby Academy players, Domantas Stravinskas and Julius Melnikas, have been selected to represent Lithuania at the championship. We wish them every success as they prepare to compete on the European stage. The entire Vilnius Rugby Academy community will be cheering them on! 🏉
