Vilnius Rugby Academy successfully started the Baltic Rugby Championship season
On 11 August 2024, Vilnius Rugby Academy (VRA) opened its Baltic Rugby Championship season with a victorious win against Citma-RV Transport-Brothers of Cleanliness at their home stadium in Vingis Park.

The first quarter was not easy for the VRA team - after an intense battle it ended with the score 7:13 in favour of Citma-RV Transport-Brothers of Cleanliness. Although the opponents were ahead, VRA did not give up and showed great determination and energy in the second quarter.
From the very beginning of the second period, VRA demonstrated a strong game and a confident defence, preventing the opponents from breaking through their lines. While Citma-RV Transport-Brothers of Cleanliness tried to fight back, VRA managed to take the initiative and score points after impressive attacks. During the second half, Vilnius Rugby Academy dominated the field and scored 33 points, securing the final victory 40:13.
Domantas Stravinskas was named the best player in the VRA team, scoring 15 points (try - 5 points and conversions - 10 points). For his part, Ugnius Pocius was the best player for Citma-RV Transport-Brothers of Cleanliness.
After the game, the two teams met for the traditional "third half", a friendly sit-down which helped to build even closer ties between the players. Despite the intense battle on the pitch, this meeting was a great opportunity to exchange experiences and improve mutual understanding
This victory is a great start for Vilnius Rugby Academy on its way to success in this Baltic Rugby Championship season. The next VRA match will take place on 17 August at 14:00 in Riga, Latvia, where they will meet RK "Lāči/MŪKUSALA" team. The team is expected to continue their excellent form and fight for the top positions in this tournament.
