Vilnius Rugby Academy made a successful start in the Lithuanian Rugby-7 Championship round in Kaunas. The capital city team won all three matches and took 1st place.

Vilnius Rugby Academy started the first round of the Lithuanian Rugby-7 Championship in Kaunas with confidence – three matches, three victories, and first place after the opening round returns to the capital.
In the first match, the Vilnius team showed solid performance and convincingly defeated Klaipėda “Kuršiai-2” with a score of 43:0. It was a strong start that demonstrated the team’s preparation, focus, and determination to set the pace from the very first match.
In the second match, Vilnius Rugby Academy faced Šiauliai “Baltrex Dubleriai”. Although the opponents managed to score and tried to stay in the game, the capital city team maintained control and secured their second victory with a final score of 38:14.
The third match of the round was a Vilnius derby against “Geležinis Vilkas”. In this game, Vilnius Rugby Academy once again demonstrated fast, high-scoring, and disciplined rugby, finishing the match with a convincing 57:7 victory.
After the first round, Vilnius Rugby Academy recorded 3 wins out of 3 matches, 9 tournament points, and 1st place in the championship standings. The team’s total points difference for the round was 138:21.
The best player of the round was named Alvidas Pritulskis, whose confident performance, consistency on the field, and important contribution to the team’s victories became a meaningful part of Vilnius Rugby Academy’s successful start. Throughout the round, Alvidas showed fight, focus, and leadership, helping the team complete a winning weekend.
There were also several strong individual performances in the team’s statistics. Julius Melnikas became the top scorer of the entire tournament, who scored 41 points. A significant contribution to the team’s victories also came from Domantas Stravinskas, who scored 34 points, Alvidas Pritulskis with 28 points, Dominykas Petrovas with 20 points, Domantas Alenskas with 10 points, and Pierre-Louis Laviale, who added 5 points.
Thank you to the entire team for a strong start to the season. The first round showed that Vilnius Rugby Academy enters the new R-7 Championship season with confidence, a clear goal, and winning energy.
