Vilnius Rugby Academy Players to Represent Lithuania at the European Beach Rugby Championship
On August 22–23, the 2026 European Beach Rugby Championship will take place in Chișinău, Moldova, with both the Lithuanian men’s and women’s national teams competing. Two Vilnius Rugby Academy players – Julius Melnikas and Domantas Stravinskas – will represent Lithuania as part of the men’s national team.

Two Vilnius Rugby Academy players selected for the Lithuanian national team
This weekend, August 22–23, European beach rugby teams will meet in Chișinău, Moldova, for the 2026 European Beach Rugby Championship, where Lithuania will be represented by both the men’s and women’s national teams.
This championship is particularly special for the Vilnius Rugby Academy community, as two of our players – Julius Melnikas and Domantas Stravinskas – will take to the field as part of the Lithuanian men’s national team.
It is an opportunity to compete on the international stage, face strong European opponents and, most importantly, proudly represent Lithuania.
Lithuanian men’s national team schedule
On August 22, the Lithuanian men’s national team will play three matches:
12:30 – Lithuania – Netherlands
15:50 – Lithuania – Belgium
19:50 – Lithuania – Cyprus
Vilnius Rugby Academy players Julius Melnikas and Domantas Stravinskas will join the Lithuanian national team in these battles on the beach.
Lithuanian women’s national team schedule
Lithuania will also be represented at the European Beach Rugby Championship by the women’s national team. On August 22, they will play two matches:
11:00 – Poland – Lithuania
18:00 – Netherlands – Lithuania
The championship will continue on August 23.

It is always special for the Vilnius Rugby Academy community to see our players wearing the Lithuanian national team jersey. Julius and Domantas are heading to Moldova to represent Lithuania and compete against some of Europe’s strongest beach rugby teams.
