To encourage children's physical activity, teamwork skills, and a healthy lifestyle, Vilnius Rugby Academy, together with the Lithuanian Rugby Federation, is implementing a project at the Ažulaukė Primary Education Department (Nemenčinės St. 7, Ažulaukė, Riešė Eldership, Vilnius District).
The project is financed by funds allocated by the Lithuanian Rugby Federation and the National Sports Agency, making all activities completely free of charge for children.
From autumn until December 20, regular rugby lessons are being held at the Ažulaukė Primary Education Department for primary school pupils. The sessions take place every Monday and Friday from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and are open to children up to Grade 5.
Rugby develops not only physical abilities but also respect, discipline, and cooperation. During the training sessions, children learn the basic elements of rugby in a fun and safe environment, participate in active relay races, team games, and improve their overall physical fitness.
According to representatives of Vilnius Rugby Academy, the main goal of the project is to provide children with an opportunity to try a new sport, discover active leisure activities, and strengthen healthy lifestyle habits. It is especially important that such activities are accessible to all children regardless of their family's financial situation.
It is hoped that some participants will become interested in rugby and continue their sporting journey in the future. Most importantly, every child can gain greater self-confidence, make new friends, and enjoy positive experiences through participation.
We invite children up to Grade 5 to join the free rugby lessons in Ažulaukė every Monday and Friday from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. The sessions will continue until December 20.
