The first half started with points for “VRA-Tomosta”, Mantas Butkevičius accurately converted a free kick and brought the academicians ahead 0-3. However, a few moments later Tomas Kušlevič committed an illegal action against an opponent and earned a red card. “VRA-Tomosta” rugby players were left on the field with 14 players against 15. The “Iron Wolf” team took advantage of this and in the 14th minute earned its first humiliation. Dovydas Taujanskas, who played well, added a conversion kick and brought the wolves ahead 7:3. 33 minutes after “VRA-Tomosta” penalty, the wolves chose a kick at the goal and successfully converted it. The first half ended with the score 10:3.

The second half started very tensely, the teams exchanged effective attacks, but the first points were scored only in the 72nd minute when the “Iron Wolf” rugby players successfully converted a free kick and increased their advantage to 13:3. A few minutes later, the wolves scored a second goal with a successful conversion. When the score became 20:3, the academics did not give up and still tried to hang on to the match. In the 78th minute, one of the most stable players of this season – Arijus Traigys – scored his goal. Demonstrating an excellent game and maturity and calmness uncharacteristic for his age on the field, Arijus, who appeared after the substitution, enlivened the game and scored very important points for his team. Unfortunately, the academics did not manage to score any more points and the match ended with a score of 20:8 in favor of the “Iron Wolf”.

Arijus Traigys was recognized as the best player of the match in the “VRA-Tomosta” team.

Alvidas Pritulskis was recognized as the best defender in the “Gralla Premium” team.

“It is very unfortunate that in the 4th minute we received a red card and our plans collapsed, we could no longer dominate in decisive battles and tactical play. The team fought until the end and believed in victory, but frequent mistakes, such as not catching the ball or simply slipping on the field, took their toll. Again, lack of discipline, in defense or attacks at the opponent's goal line” – the team's head coach Vidmantas Valys also expressed his opinion.

The next match will be held on October 9th in Latvia with the local “Miesneki” team for 7th place in the “Baltic Top League”.
