Last weekend, at Vilnius Rugby Academy’s home ground in Vingis Park, the “Baltic Rugby Championship” match took place, where our team faced the Latvian “Lāči”. The sunny weather created perfect conditions for rugby, and from the very first minutes, the pitch was full of speed, contact, and emotions.

In the early stages of the game, VRA proved their dominance – quick points and disciplined defense allowed them to build a solid lead. The first half ended with a confident 38:7 score in our team’s favor. In the second half, the players continued their strong performance, and despite the injury, when one of our players had to leave the field due to a cut eyebrow and be taken to a medical facility for stitches, the fighting spirit on the pitch did not diminish. The final score – 64:21, and another convincing victory for VRA.

The scoring contributions came from Julius Melnikas, Dominykas Petrovas, Tautvydas Komža, Domantas Alenskas, and Martynas Rimšelis, who was also named the best player of the match. Successful conversions were made by Domantas Stravinskas and Julius Melnikas.

As usual after the game, together with the Latvian team, everyone gathered around a traditional homemade stew – it was a great opportunity not only to recover but also to share emotions, reflect on the match, and strengthen camaraderie.

The next game will take place on September 28, at 1:00 PM – once again at our home ground, M. K. Čiurlionio g. 112, Vilnius. We warmly invite all fans to come and support the team – your voice in the stands is truly important for us!
