Last weekend, the Vilnius Rugby Academy community once again came together for its annual volunteer cleanup, dedicated to preparing the stadium—its “home”—for the winter season. This year, even more families joined the effort: parents, children, coaches, and even grandparents enthusiastically worked side by side, tidying the field, raking leaves, organizing and storing equipment, and ensuring the stadium is safe and ready for the cold months ahead.
All participants enjoyed the great weather, friendly company, and the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of their community. The academy’s youngest athletes proudly helped the adults—turning the day into not only a fun experience, but also a valuable lesson in responsibility, teamwork, and caring for their sporting home.
After the work was done, the community lingered, sharing tea, homemade treats, and stories from the season. They reminisced about memorable moments and appreciated those who have taken part in these cleanups year after year. Events like this remind everyone that rugby is more than just a sport—it is a shared set of values that fosters respect, unity, and teamwork both on and off the field.
These gatherings not only help maintain the environment but also strengthen the sense of togetherness. Together, we nurture not only athletic achievements but also a strong, supportive, and connected community.
We grow only together!!!
